More activities in NY to commemorate the centennial of Xavier Montsalvatge inside the "Montsalvatge days" have done last November.
"La casa flotante" ("The floating house") is a puppet show for kids produced by the theater company "La Maquiné". Its central plot is "L'arca de Noè", 1990 ("Noah's Ark") by Montsalvatge. It has also some of the most renowned music pieces by Claude Debussy.
On November 8th the events will include a conference & concert carried out by Jordi Codina and the students of Madó Rocamora. On November 9th the cultural space will screen the latest documentary about Montsalvatge "Half violin, an armchair, and a piano".
ESMUC library will exhibit some material about Montsalvatge until the 11th of October.
On September 27 there will be a ceremony at Instituto Cervantes of NY and the day after , on 28th there will be a concert at the Morgan Library with the "Perspective Ensemble" and Angel Gil-Ordoñez as a conductor. Benet Casablancas pays tribute to Montsalvatge.

The competition took place this time in Valladolid. Since 2002, the event's name has carried the subtitle "Certamen Xavier Montsalvatge", in honour of the composer.
