.......Monsalvatge tells me: "I remember that they gave me a book with poems by Foix and I chose one that I really liked. I put Music to it, and the piece has been sung quite a bit and I think it is generally liked. It is within my style from that time and the  French Provence occupies the place that in other works of mine was occupied by the ultramarine".
