Comments
"I wrote Alborada en Aurinx in 1999 on behalf of the Provincial Council of Jaén and the Centro para la Difusión de la Música Contemporánea as a compulsory work for the participants of the XLIII International Piano Competition "Premio de Jaén" in 2001. In dedicating this work to the "Premio Jaén", my purpose was to idealize an imaginary awakening in Aurinx or Roman Auringia, conquered by Lucius Scipio during the Second Punic War at the beginning of the first millennium, a place where, over time, the city that would be called Jaén would develop."
Xavier Montsalvatge, 2001.
