"In 1958 I composed this score which, two years later, won the Alicante Esplà Oscar Award. With the title of Partita, so appreciated by the composers of the 18th century, I set out to create a work not entirely unrelated to classicism. By adding the date of 1958, in addition to alluding to the granting of the award, I wanted to make it clear that this was not about innovative music and outdated formulas."
