Comments

"The idea was to create three dances that, while maintaining a certain unity, were of a very different character without departing from the concertante style: a la francaise (approaching the French overtures of the 18th century, with a contrapuntal and solemn air); in the American style, searching among the typical cadences of Latin American music for the most peculiar dynamics and a colonial and nostalgic atmosphere, I found the effects of an "almost Havanera" that is assimilated into the "antillanist" trend of my work; and finally, a "la Andaluza", it approaches the specific character of Andalusian music without including any folkloric themes, on the contrary, running away from this through a vaguely polytonal language."
