Comments
"It had its origin in a string quintet composed during his studies at the Barcelona Conservatory. The work was abandoned until the present formation was formed and Montsalvatge decided to expand and update it for his premiered at the Sant Pau del Camp church on June 2, 1995. The work, obviously written in a time of turmoil, reflects a neo-romantic sentiment towards which he was attracted at the beginning of his creative activity the Italian verista music and Puccini's lyricism, which continues even today, is reflected even in the title and is more evident in three of its movements, being in the allegretto where the most evolved and independent will characteristic of its current orientation gravitates more aesthetics."
Carlos Figueroa, 1995.
"Divided into four movements, Recóndita armonía is an essentially lyrical work. The function of the piano throughout the work is more concertante than soloistic, reflecting the chamber origin of the score."
Jordi Masó, 2010.
