"Narciso Yepes and Nicanor Zabaleta premiered the Fantasia for guitar and harp on April 9, 1984, at the Kennedy Center in Washington, a work structured in three movements: a "chiaroscuro" -moderate-, a "cadential" - calmato simplice- and, finally, a "Brazilian" -allegro moderato- The next day they performed it at Carnegie Hall in New York and from then on the work appeared in the regular repertoire of both musicians, who are who commissioned it. The reviews that appeared in the United States (Washington Post and New York Times) spoke of a complete instrumental technique and an imagination that approximates this fantasy to a polychromy of pictorial suggestion."
